As young people ourselves, we know it can sometimes be difficult to be genuine, honest, and real with ourselves and with other people. There is a huge deal of pressure to act and look a certain way, and to hold certain opinion and beliefs. Many of us even have a slightly different personality for each social environment we place ourselves in. Very rarely are we in an environment where we can be who we want to be, and this can lead us to question who we really are, and what purpose we exist to serve.
The Vine is such a unique and powerful environment because it makes irrelevant the many social ideals we strive to meet, and unites young people in a common passion to live for good and for God.
For Good and for God
Through The Vine, we hope to not only inspire, but equip our young people to live for good and for God. Our Worship Program is bursting at the seams with empowering praise and worship, interactive talks from engaging speakers, and opportunities to connect with young people. All of which is intentionally designed to equip our young people with the knowledge, guidance, and skillset they need to influence the world for good and for God.
Connecting Young Adults
Our vision for The Vine is centred around connection; we want to provide opportunities for young adults to meet other young adults and form friendships in which they really can be who they want to be. This element of connection is why there is much more to The Vine than a worship program alone. We provide free dinner for everyone after the program, and then break up into zones: sports, movie, chill, and connect. Finally, we’ll even have our very own The Vine Café, run by our young people, which will sell sweet and savoury foods, hot and cold beverages, and more. The proceeds from The Vine Café will go straight back into supporting our young adults and their pursuit for Christ.
Do everything you can to make it to The Vine on May 27 from 4:45pm so you don’t miss any part of the event! For more information and to keep updated, you can find us on Facebook.
As you drive up Hughes Rd East, our friendly parking team will direct you to where you can park. We have heaps of youth and young adults who will be available between the carpark and the Performing Arts Centre – so nobody will be left without someone to connect with.
The Vine is strictly an alcohol, smoking and drug free event. Any attendees carrying alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs will have such materials confiscated and destroyed indefinitely.
The Vine’s programs end at 9pm, at which time our pack up crews will begin restoring the facilities to their former states. As such, we ask all attendees to leave around 9pm if possible. The Vine’s leaders will not leave, however, until every attendee has found a way home.
